Is puduPdf safe to use?
Yes. puduPdf processes all files directly in your browser using pdf-lib and pdfjs-dist libraries. Your files are never uploaded to any server. Unlike tools like iLovePDF or Smallpdf, there is no data transfer — processing is 100% local via JavaScript and Web Workers.
How much can the PDF size be reduced?
It depends on the PDF content. Documents with large images (such as scanned files or presentations with photos) typically reduce between 40% and 80%. puduPdf recompresses embedded images using the browser Canvas API. PDFs with vector content or text only will see minimal reductions.
Is there a file size limit?
You can process files up to 100 MB. Since everything runs in your browser via Web Workers, very large files may take a bit longer depending on the available memory on your device.
Is quality lost when compressing?
Text and vectors always remain intact. Images are recompressed via Canvas API at a configurable quality level. puduPdf offers three levels: Low (maximum quality, minimum reduction), Balanced (recommended) and Maximum (greater reduction).
